FAQ
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is for creative seekers and curious minds—anyone drawn to deep thinking, expansive landscapes, and a break from the demands of daily life. Through historical storytelling, personal reflection, and time on the land, we’ll explore creativity, connection, and renewal. Think of it as a space to pause, recalibrate, and spark something new.
What’s the typical age range of participants for a Skypunch retreat?
Participants span a wide range of ages, from late 20s to 50s and beyond. Some are earlier in their creative careers and seeking clarity, while others are more established and looking for fresh inspiration or a reset. What unites everyone is curiosity, openness, and a desire to step away from routine to explore solitude and creativity together. The mix of perspectives across ages often becomes one of the richest parts of the experience.
Can I come with a friend?
Yes. Some participants choose to attend with a friend, and it can be a meaningful way to share the journey. For Stillness Study, which centers on solitude, we just ask that everyone also arrive with the intention to be present as an individual. You’re welcome to room together if spots are available, but much of the retreat experience unfolds in personal reflection balanced with group connection. Whether you arrive solo or with someone close, you’ll be supported in carving out your own space while also being part of the collective.
Can I attend with my partner?
Yes, partners are welcome to join. Each participant books their own package (which includes lodging, meals, and programming), so you’ll each reserve an individual bed. While you’ll be attending side-by-side, Stillness Study is designed around solitude and individual reflection. We encourage couples to arrive with the shared intention of engaging the retreat as individuals first. Many partners find this balance—experiencing the retreat together, yet separately—deepens both their personal and shared practices.
Can you generate a receipt for me? I think my work can reimburse me!
Yes! Just email hello@skypunch.world
Do I need to be be an artist or have an active practice to attend?
Not at all! While this retreat is inspired by the creative spirit, it’s open to anyone who feels called to step away from the everyday and reconnect with themselves and their surroundings. No artistic background required—just a sense of curiosity.
Where will we stay?
Hacienda del Sol, a beautiful historic inn in the heart of Taos. Nestled at the foot of Taos Mountain, the space offers cozy adobe rooms, daily breakfast, and stunning views of the high desert landscape.
How many people will be attending?
This will be an intimate gathering, limited to 10 participants, including one facilitator—small enough for meaningful connection, spacious enough for solitude.
Do I need to have an understanding of the relevant art history before the trip?
Nope! We’ll introduce you to the art history and narratives that inspire this retreat. Think of it as a guided journey—you just need to bring your curiosity.
I’m an introvert / but a little shy / excited though / and maybe a little anxious...is this still for me?
