THE
WINTER FOLD

LUX by Rosalía

A two-hour winter ritual for creative souls seeking depth, rest, and resonance.

You know you need to slow down this winter—but what does that actually look like anymore?

What if it looked like this: two hours. One album. Nothing to achieve. Just you, headphones, and permission to receive something beautiful instead of producing something new.

During The Winter Fold, our annual wintering retreat, we gather to do something radically simple: rest with artwork. This year, we listen to Rosalía's Lux together. Front to back. In full. In our own cozy dim rooms, with warm bevvies, wearing headphones -- weighted blanket optional but recommended.

No phones. No multitasking. No pressure to have the “right” reaction.

Just two hours of moving at the speed of art. Of letting beauty work on you without needing to work back. Of remembering what it feels like to receive something—not because it’ll make you more productive, but because your soul is asking for it.

This is your winter pause. Will you take it?

Why LUX? Why winter?

Rosalía describes LUX as a vertical journey—reaching between the material world and something astral, spiritual. It’s multilingual, mystic, feminine, devotional—and built for deep attention. An hour-long experience meant to be heard front-to-back. It’s an album that rewards slowness.

Winter asks for that same slowness.

Together, they create a portal: a way to return to presence, emotion, and the part of you that’s been stretched thin by the world.

If you’ve been feeling overstimulated, under-inspired, or quietly disconnected from yourself, this retreat is designed for that exact season.

What You’ll Experience:

A soft arrival We’ll take a few minutes to settle in and get grounded with a guided meditation before entering the album. Cameras are optional for arrival + listening, and gently encouraged for the brief breakout at the end.

A full front-to-back playthrough of Lux Get cozy. Dim the lights. Tuck your phone away. We’ll listen together, separately, in real time. Noise cancelling headphones and a weighted blanket recommended. Design your ideal listening chapel and get ready for a rare moment of collective focus and deep attention.

Ritual Guide & Prompts
Before the virtual retreat, you’ll receive an email with a digital guide including suggestions for how to set up your space for an optimal listening experience. The guide will also include prompts for each track. After listening through we’ll have time to journal and reflect. IRL retreat atendees will receive a printed guide at the event.

Micro breakoutsThe softest kind of connection: no spotlight, no big reveal, just shared presence. Reflect with others who are drawn to depth and creative aliveness. Many people leave The Winter Fold with a new friend, or at least the feeling of being part of the Skypunch community.

Closing integration A few grounding words and a quiet re-entry back into your evening.

The Journey Through LUX

LUX is built as a vertical journey with different movements—like an opera, holding different mystic voices. While the album flows as one continuous experience, here are some of the territories it guides us through:

Longing & Ascent
The pull toward something luminous. Desire. The beginning of reaching.

Study & Devotion
Sitting with complexity, doubt, discipline. The work of not knowing.

Shadow & Haunting
Meeting what we carry: fears, old aches, the parts that want to hide.

Release & Surrender
Letting go. Softening. Transfiguration.

Important Note for Virtual

We will all listen to the album on our own devices (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.) Please have access to LUX before the retreat. We’ll press play together.

“I love the idea of building a community centered around a shared investigation. The themes really spoke to me and my interests.”

“Thinking critically about art/artists and connecting their work to my life was most meaningful. Often times in a museum it's forced or strained; this was authentically resonant.”

Meet Your Guide

Erica Bech is a lifelong student of art history, creative practice, spiritual inquiry, and the elusive ways inspiration takes shape. As a creative director and facilitator, they design transformative experiences for artists, thinkers, and world-builders seeking space to explore—beyond the grind of productivity-driven culture.

With over a decade of experience leading creative in marketing, Erica has spent their career guiding artists and designers to tell stories for brands. Now, they’re more interested in guiding creatives to explore stories rooted in history and wonder. How does learning and inspiration happen outside traditional structures? They see teaching as a creative practice, not a top-down transfer of knowledge but an open invitation to curiosity, experimentation, and communal discovery.

Their work is shaped by art history and spiritual inquiry, along with a deep commitment to making creative renewal accessible. They are a Berkeley trained executive coach and an ever-curious student of facilitation, self-inquiry, and artistic process.

Skypunch is an ongoing experiment—a space to get lost on purpose, to follow questions like threads, and to gather in the quiet where creativity stirs.
